Take Advantage of Titan Link

Life as a college student can be layered with challenges inside and outside of class. When financial or familial emergencies interfere, balancing the demands of school and life can be difficult. Fortunately, GTCC offers a service specifically designed to assist students through such trying times: Titan Link connects students with many needed resources.

Located on the third floor of the Learning Resource Center, Titan Link supports and informs students, faculty and staff in need of assistance with non-academic challenges, including housing, transportation, food security and emergency funding.

Campus Facilitator Joshua Lovell explains that Titan Link “offers a variety of services to help mitigate the challenges students have in their day-to-day lives, outside of academia.” For example, Titan Link provides a food pantry, a clothing closet and bus passes through Greensboro and High Point to students for free.

Lovell also states that “in certain circumstances, if you’re facing an emergency, and you qualify academically, we do have some funding available” to assist you through financial challenges. These opportunities, however, are limited and only select applicants may qualify.

In addition to providing resources on campus, Titan Link directs students to the appropriate community organizations in Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Thomasville, Asheboro and other surrounding cities that also provide support to those in need of nourishment, shelter, food and assistance.

Titan Link is open to provide general services Monday–Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Select services such as bus passes are provided Monday–Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to noon. 

Finally, gas cards are available for students who attend face-to-face classes at least three times a week. These services are available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

Everyone experiences adversity in life, and some challenges are impossible to overcome alone. Seek and receive assistance from Titan link to mitigate the external life challenges that may prevent you from being successful in school.
